About Rob & Jody

Rob and Jody were immediately plunged into the River of God and the river has increased in intensity since then without any sign of relenting. The call of God upon this couple is intense and life changing. They have a mandate to “Set the captives free!” Through their worship and ministry, there is an impartation that stimulates the desire to know Him in more intimate ways. They do not see themselves as “Worship Leaders” but prefer to be called, “Lead Worshipers.” Before they met Jesus, they spent their lives in bars trying to please the customers, and Jesus has shown them that in the Kingdom of God there is only ‘One’ in the audience and He is worthy to be praised.

Everyone in the church has the mandate to worship Him. “For God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).” (John 4:24) AMP. For too long, the model of the church has been to have the worship team performing and the audience (congregation) being entertained, but in these last days that model has been changing into a oneness between the worship team and the congregation. Recently there has been a moving towards all of us looking to the “One” who is worthy of our worship, and His name is “Elohim, and Yahweh.” (Along with many others, which point to His intimate and wonderful attributes)

They also believe very strongly in the “New Song” as described in the Psalms. When the Holy Spirit is leading the worship, there are many times that healings, deliverances and impartations take place without the laying on of hands. Rob and Jody believe strongly in the ministry of impartation whether with or without hands being laid. Many times these ministry times when the Holy Spirit imparts are like time capsules, in that you never know that anything happened until later, when something inside becomes activated in a dramatic way that results in a “Suddenly” taking place in many lives.

I believe that Rob and Jody are on the cutting edge of the “New Move of God” taking place in the earth today and their role as fire-starters is a much needed ministry in the Body of Christ in this time when Satan has blinded the eyes and deafened the ears of many in the Church today. There is a trumpet call to “Those who have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the churches” in this great hour of awakening. Come hear the call of the mighty Shofar of heaven to, “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1) NASB

Profane Fire

By | Easter 2015, Epistles for Warriors, Testimony, Uncategorized | No Comments

Could it be, that the reason we are not seeing the glory of God manifested powerfully in our meetings today is, because we are offering profane or strange fire up to Him?

“Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke, saying:
‘By those who come near Me
I must be regarded as holy;
And before all the people
I must be glorified.’ ”Lev. 10:1-3

We read again in Leviticus,“So they brought what Moses commanded before the tabernacle of meeting. And all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. Then Moses said, “This is the thing which the LORD commanded you to do, and the glory of the LORD will appear to you.” And Moses said to Aaron, “Go to the altar, offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. Offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as the LORD commanded.”Leviticus 9:5-7.

“And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people, and fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.”Leviticus 9:23-24

Now I am not suggesting that we go back to the sacrificial system. Jesus is our atonement once and for all. But the Bible says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.”Hebrews 13:8-9. We know that God has laid things out for us in His word, which is the perfect director to His heart and His ways. We are not going to be effective if we do what we want and then ask God to bless our ways. We are to find out what God requires and how He requires it, in His word.

My pastor said to me recently, concerning this subject, “I strongly agree that we are a powerless church today because we worship and church man’s way without consideration to what God wants. I believe that part of it is that we no longer “wait on the Lord”. We don’t have time for that. Services are timed, canned and packaged to adapt to man’s needs not God’s sovereignty.” And he further added, “…even subtle departure from God’s design weakens the power by grieving the Holy Spirit.”

Jody and I were with some friends in Nanaimo B.C. on Vancouver Island, last week, worshiping the Lord and these things came out prophetically during worship. God started to passionately reveal these situations in His word when people did things their own way and then were indignant when God did not respond as they expected. Another incident we can look at, is when Saul was ordered to destroy everything as he went to battle against the Amalekites.“‘Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’Sam. 15:3

Now it is clear from this passage that Saul was to spare nothing and no one.“And Saul attacked the Amalekites, from Havilah all the way to Shur, which is east of Egypt. He also took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.1 Sam. 15:7-9

Now what is interesting about this passage is that Saul did most of what he was commanded to do. He destroyed all of the despised and worthless things but spared all of the good things along with Agag the king. When he was confronted by Samuel about the situation, Samuel said to him, “Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the LORD?” 1 Sam. 15:19-20. When we see Saul’s response, I think that we can relate to it.“But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. “But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.”1 Sam. 15:20-21

I think that there are very interesting things in Saul’s response that we can gain a great deal of insight from. Saul told Samuel that he did obey. In his mind, for whatever reason, he was justified in his actions. He had obeyed to a point, and maybe that was a good thing for Saul. He even justified the keeping of the best of the sheep and the plunder to sacrifice to the Lord. In his own distorted way, maybe he felt that if he sacrificed to the Lord this stuff, that God would be appeased and forgive him for not obeying the whole commandment. I wonder if we are guilty in our modern Christianity of similar things.

Now we all know that Saul was quite a disappointment as a man and as a king. Well…..What about David? We know that David was a man after God’s own heart, right? Yet, David’s ignorance of God’s ways got Uzzah killed! David assembled all of the people and had a meeting about bringing the ark back from Kiriath-jearim. Everyone agreed that this was right to do. So we see that the intention of their hearts was right. They were going after the ark, which symbolized the glory of the Lord, to bring it home to Jerusalem, where it belonged. This should have been good enough for God to bless, right? So as we follow the trail here, we see that there were so many things done so wrong that God’s wrath was poured out upon Uzzah and he died, right there in front of everyone. They did not do it God’s way! God gave specific commands as to how the ark was to be moved and who was to move it. There was no deviating on this matter. But….this was the beloved son, David, a man after God’s own heart that we are talking about. Surely God could have turned a blind eye on this situation because of the passionate hearts that only wanted to see the ark return to where it belonged. Surely God could contradict his own commands and let this go, just this once. David did not do this to upset God or en-anger Him. He did it out of ignorance! What about the priests? They should have stood up and said, “David, there are specific instructions about how to move the ark and we must adhere to them.” Why were they silent? Where they just negligent or complacent? They should have known the Law in these matters! Their disregard caused death! We frequently talk about Ananias and Sapphira’s deaths, before the apostles in Acts, what about the significance of the death of Uzzah?

We read in Numbers 4, “When the camp prepares to journey, Aaron and his sons shall come, and they shall take down the covering veil and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.” Num. 4:5. So we see our first problem. They did not cover the ark as commanded. The ark represents the glory of the Lord. Let’s read on.“Then they shall put on it a covering of badger skins, and spread over that a cloth entirely of blue; and they shall insert its poles.”Num. 4:6. Problem #2, They were to cover it with more layers and insert poles into the rings on the sides.“You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, that the ark may be carried by them. “The poles shall be in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it.” Exodus 25:14. David put the ark on a new cart that seemed to be a good idea. Instead of putting it on some old cart that would have been seen as an insult to God, they did what was right in their own eyes just like they did in Judges. But……this was not the way God had commanded it to be so. The priests should have known God’s commands! The ark was to be carried only by the Levites (Kohathites) and only on their shoulders with the poles. What presumption to carry the glory of God in a way that God did not command or desire. Problem #3 was that they did not carry it the way they should. So we have the ark traveling throughout the land uncovered on wagon pulled by horses, and open to everyone’s gaze.“…..but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.” Num. 4:15. Problem #4, no one was to touch the ark. We have all probably been taught that Uzzah became too familiar with the ark, and took it for granted, and there is a lot of truth in this, but I believe what is more important is that there was an utter disregard for God’s clear commands, stipulated by Moses. What else would we expect God to do?

God has a blueprint, which is His Word, that is sanctified and will always please Him. A builder would be a fool to ignore the blueprint and just do it his own way! The house would fall down! The pipes would leak! It would fail! So it is with our lives!

Now let’s bring this situation up to our day and age. Since God is the same today as He was then, do we think that he has gotten loose with His ways? We are not going to get all legalistic here and say that we are going to have to follow every ordinance in Leviticus and start the sacrificial system again and wear Jewish attire. But…..God has His ways which Isaiah tells us,“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9.

So….Our purpose is to find out His ways and then follow them! We have operated presumptuously! In our church services, we speak when we want, how we want, and conduct our meetings the way that seems right to us. The timing of our services is predictable, and consistent. How else could we have 2 or more services on Sunday morning scheduled exactly 2 hours apart, and use the same message and the same songs for each. What about the spontaneous moving of the Holy Spirit constantly monitoring the moment, and ministering accordingly? Is God so predicable? Repetition is not part of His character! He created each of us uniquely, in DNA, with individual eye retina patterns, fingertips, voice characteristics, and many other attributes that we are yet to discover. Is this the kind of God who is boring and predicable? I think not! He is passionate, holy, sharp as a two-edged sword, a Warrior, ready for to come to the rescue of one of His little ones who is crying out. Yet, we have turned Him into a presence that we think that we can control. Just as the Holy Spirit is ministering to Uncle Mike or my brother John, the next segment of the service stops the worship at the designated time and we move on to the announcements and the ministry is aborted just as they were about to have a breakthrough. We need to be sensitive to how God is moving in our midst from moment to moment. No schooling will prepare us for this. Time spent in the secret place as we get to know His voice is the only preparation that equips us for this. When we ignore the Holy Spirit and continue with our pre-planned services regardless of the moving of His Spirit, we grieve the Holy Spirit of God.

I believe that we often prophesy presumptuously! I believe in prophecy! Sometimes these timely words have confirmed things that God has already been speaking to us about. No word of prophesy takes precedent over God’s Word. These words of prophetic utterance must never contradict God’s holy word. We have received instruction from leaders that we can prophesy whenever we want. What about the unction of the Holy Spirit? Or…How about this phrase? “Put a demand on the anointing!” Demand from God? We are not going to control God folks! God is not a genie in the sky for our pleasures! We have become presumptuous with His power, His anointing, and His giftings! And after all of this…..we expect God to bless it all!

The priests were commanded to teach the difference between the holy and profane.“And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. 24“In controversy they shall stand as judges, and judge it according to My judgments.”Ezekiel 44:23-24

It is a great responsibility to teach the difference between the holy and the profane. We are talking about holy fire and profane fire! We are God’s priests and we need to teach it to all those who will listen! For the sake of size and space, I believe that there is enough information in this article for one reading. Let God show you what has been holy and what has been unholy in your life, your church services and other Christian events that you have been part of. Send us your feedback. We are not experts in these areas, but we are just a voice in the wilderness along with many others. We are crying out because God has been crying out, and He needs others to catch this fire of justice, and spread the light on deception. God told Ezekiel,“Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.”Ezekiel 3:19.

Flesh Or Spirit ?

By | Easter 2015, Epistles for Warriors, Testimony, Uncategorized | No Comments

I have a righteous indignation against satan for using those in the Body of Christ who call those things by Spiritual names which are really down deep, the desires of the flesh dressed up in Spiritual clothes. Is the Holy Spirit after the things of the flesh or the things of the Spirit? Will he waste His time with working towards beautifying the fleshy part of man or a woman?

There are ministries today who talk about God giving instant weight loss, great prosperity, removal of wrinkles, removal of unwanted hair by His power. I heard one minister call this “Cosmetic Miracles” Can He do it? Of course He can because the Bible says that God can do all things. Why would He do it? Will this help us on our road to knowing Him intimately and dying to the very flesh that we are being duped into believing that God is concerned about beautifying? I have been in meetings where the minister calls out an anointing for instant weight loss and the crowd rises to their feet and grabs a hold of this call to become youthful again, they may even use the Scripture from Isaiah 40:30 about being renewed like the eagle. I heard a minister say, some of you would like to fit into those jeans you wore when you were a teenager, or you ladies who say, “I’d love to fit into my wedding dress again. God wants to renew your youth! This is His program! This is His plan!” This message will fill a lot of churches, but it will not please God!

I heard one minister use Psalm 103:1 where it says, “Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.”This minister stretched that Scripture where it says, “inmost being” to mean that we should praise the Lord with our body fat. He said ”If you want God to touch you with supernatural weight loss, you get your fat to do the praising.” Why do we call that which is holy, profane and that which is profane, holy? God commanded his priests to teach the people the difference between the holy and profane, did He not in Exodus 22:26 “Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common; they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean; and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.”

How many times will we be deceived by doctrines of demons? How many times will we run to hear a prophetic word just to stroke our carnal natures? How is this different from fortune tellers in the satantic realm? Have we substituted the ways of satan for the ways of God and called it Christian? Have we become Christian Fortune Tellers? The Bible says that in the end time, the deception will be so powerful that if the time were not made short that even the elect of the church would be deceived. This time of deception is upon us folks. We are not waiting for this time to come upon the church, it is here! We are being stroked in the flesh by demonic doctrines disguised as doctrines of the Lord.

I hear people talking about God anointing secular music and that if we consider that using secular music in church is wrong then we are religious. I know that secular music carries in the seed of it, self-exhaltation, self-gratification, self-indulgence, selfish ambition, sensuality, and sexuality. Basically the theme of the secular music culture is: Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. Why would God need to use secular music in the church? Is heaven short of ideas? Has God run out of songs? Have they all been used up? I think not!! I believe the reason that churches use secular music in the church is to stroke and satisfy the fleshy, carnal, animal nature of man. In a nutshell……….We like it!! There are soul ties in some of the music from our pasts that is connected with certain events in our lives and listening to those songs again, brings us back to a time that was not clean in our lives.

One time I went to a church where they had some special music and there was this man who was doing a bunch of Elvis Presley songs which he had changed the lyrics, to reflect Christian themes. He was up there singing with his two daughters. It didn’t feel right to me and as I sought the Lord on it, he showed me it was like taking a painting that was pornographic and painting over it with a scene of flowers and beautiful trees. He showed me that corruption was still soaked into the canvas and the demons of self-idolization were still present behind the nature scene. Basically it was polluted with sensuality, which could not be seen with the natural eye, but the eye of the Spirit detected that there was something unclean about the whole thing. Is God short of canvasses and so He needs to use filthy canvasses to do His holy work? Deception is in our midst! God warns in the O.T. about throwing out the garments that were polluted and dirty, while being careful with mixture. We need to see the difference between the holy and the profane.

‘You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.” Leviticus 19:19

We need to repent for inviting people to come and speak at our churches who we know will tickle our ears with things we want to hear. We need to repent for being excited by a word of prophesy that does not address our sin, but strokes us into believing that we are going to be great rich ministers of God with a worldwide ministry of prosperity and care-freeness. We draw these people to our churches because we want the message that strokes our flesh. REPENT!!

Why do we never ask whether a sign and a wonder in the church is of God, the flesh, or satan? The magicians in the time of Moses when he went before Pharaoh were able to duplicate the first three miracles that Moses did. “So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and thus they did just as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers, and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts. For each one threw down his staff and they turned into serpents. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. (Exodus 7:10-12) So Moses and Aaron did even as the LORD had commanded. And he lifted up(the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood. The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt. But the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret arts;and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said. Then Pharaoh turned and went into his house with no concern even for this. (Exodus 7:20-23) The Bible says in the end time that satan will draw fire from heaven and do mighty wonders in our midst. “Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. (2 Thess. 2:8-10)
“And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.”(Rev. 16:13-14)

In Matt. 24, it says if the time were not made short even the elect would be deceived. How much more evidence do we need to see that there is a great deception upon the world and a grand delusion is filling the atmosphere in our churches. We need to ask the Lord for the Spirit of Discernment to see into the realms of the Spirit in this hour.
I used to be very interested in Eastern religions such as Buddism. I was fascinated by some of the supernatural exploits of the priests of those religions. They used to talk of being able to astral travel from place to place at will and go through walls in the spirit. They claimed to be able to travel from one side of the world to the other in a flash through these powers that they had attained in the supernatural. Have you ever heard of any of these things going on in the church of Christ? I have! I heard one minister talking about practicing going through walls at will. He talked about leaning up against the wall and willing himself to go through it. Is this of God? Or is this of the same psychic force that is used by these ungodly priests of Zen and Tibeten Buddism? You be the judge! Why is the question not asked? Is it of God or of the Devil? That is the question! I have a righteous indignation to expose these lies of satan as he dupes my brothers and sisters into accepting his tricks as the things of God. God allows it, because if we were growing in His presence and His word we would be armed to see in the spirit anddiscernthese lies.

God has to be loved above all other things in these last days or we will fall into this deception that is currently invading His church. We have to be lovers of the truth! We are not called to be lovers of the signs and wonders! We are not called to be lovers of our carnal bodies! We are not called to be lovers of mighty ministers! WE ARE CALLED TO BELOVERS OF THE TRUTH! Beware of false doctrines that come clothed in very slick deceptive clothes! Jesus said thatmanywould come in my name but that they would be deceivers! In Matthew 7:15, it says, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you insheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenouswolves.” Do we have any wolves in the church? Maybe these people do not plan to be wolves or would not even believe that they are wolves. When we are deceived, do we know it? Of course not! When we are deceived, we are usually convinced that we are right in the center of the will of God. God called us to be fruit inspectors. Examine the fruit! Our desires will shape our focus and our destiny!

God says out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. What do you talk about when you are not in church? When you talk to your husband or your wife, what kind of fruit comes out of your mouth? When you talk to your best friend on the phone, what takes up your time in conversation? Jesus said that we would we would all be accountable for every idle word that proceeds out of our mouths.
The Bible talks about itchy ears in 2 Timothy 4:3,“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and that we will just go to people who will speak what we want to hear. Have we fallen into this same trap.Galatians says “You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?” (Gal. 1:1-3)

“Bewitched” is not some cute little sitcom that we have seen on 60’s TV. It means to be the target of brutal witchcraft which has one desire and purpose and that is to take you off of the road towards God’s perfect will for your life into some other direction that will seem right at the time, but will end in destruction. Beware!!

Feedbag Or The Mountains

By | Easter 2015, Epistles for Warriors, Testimony, Uncategorized | No Comments

I got this picture of a horse with a feedbag on his face, tied up to his stall. When I thought about the horse, I saw that the horse was content, because the feedbag is filled up when his master brings his meal at the regular feeding times. Even though he just passes time in his stall until the next feeding time, he is without anxiety, because he does not expect anything else in his life.

This image of the horse reminded me oftoday’s churchianity that we are living in. The people are held prisoner in their spiritual stalls and fed just enough nourishment to keep them alive. Whatever they are fed seems to take care of their basic needs. They stay tied up in their spiritual stalls, without any apparent desire to be released into the wide open spaces of the plains, where the food is so abundant and the freedom is so exhilarating! When the idea of living a life of freedom vs. a life of mere existence is expressed, the parishioner looks with unbelief at the mere idea of anything else. He or she seems to be content with his feedbag, while the mountains loom in the distance!

God did not design it this way. God is not pleased with this ‘kingship system’ where the leader of the church is the king, and all of the people serve him or her. This is a system folks, that has proven to be ineffective. It does not equip the people to do great exploits of God the way that Jesus said we would all do. “In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. Yes, ask anything, using my name, and I will do it!” John 14:12. We will not even get into how our current system can be abused to fleece the sheep while the shepherd gets fat on the abundant overflow from the deceived people. This popular ‘prosperity message’ is not fulfilling Malachi 4, where God tells them to bring in the tithes, so that the house of God will be full of food. The food was used to feed the poor, widows, orphans, and all of the people serving in the house of God. We have turned everything on it’s head and designed a system that feeds the professionals and leaves all of the rest of the people to fend for themselves. We have leaders in the Church buying 4 million dollar homes with a plethora of expensive imported automobiles and of course the private airplane bought with the sheep’s money! Why is it that Jesus told us, “And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” John 20:27-28. It seems that the pattern of the shepherd being the one who is served, is turning this example of Jesus upside down. We need to take another look at ‘our system of church.

This is food for thought is it not? I am not saying that all of our church systems work this way. There are men and women of God who have fulfilled the mandate of Jesus to be the one who lays his life down for the sheep. I know of great men and women of God who would be the first ones to die to save another. I am talking about “The System” of our current churchianity. I am not trying to paint every church leader with the same brush, please understand me. I am raising questions!

Let’s go back to the time when the Israelites pleaded with God for a king. “Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, and said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.” 1 Samuel 8:4. After Samuel sought the Lord over this request of the people, the Lord said, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.” 1 Samuel 8:7. I think that we can see that God was not pleased with their desire for a king. He had told them to wipe out all of the nations as they went into the promised land so that the infection of those nations would not soak into their hearts, and this is exactly what happened. Even though the Lord was their “King” and their “Warrior” and had taken them out of Egypt and fed them on manna, they rejected Him. He had been a cloud by day and a fire by night to protect them, but they had rejected Him! They had been so envious of the nations around them that they wanted to have a king just like the surrounding nations. The Lord had been their ‘safe haven’ and ‘refuge’ throughout their whole lives except those times when they turned their backs on Him and served other gods. When God had enough of their disobedience, He would pass judgment and they would suffer the wrath of their Father’s anger because of their out and out rebellion. Could the reason that they wanted a king of their own have something to do with their desire to live as they liked, without having to obey the Lord’s guidelines The Lord demands that we live according to His ways and not ours. Interesting isn’t it? How about today? Where’s the accountability in most of today’s churches? God said that He chastises those whom He loves. One word of correction today sends people out the door and on to the next church. This reminds me of the time in Judges when it says, “…every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Judges 17:6

Remember the time in Exodus? “When the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the trumpet blast and the mountain smoking, they all feared and trembled. So they took up a position much farther away and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we shall die.” Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid, for God has come to you only to test you and put his fear upon you, lest you should sin.” Still the people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the cloud where God was.” Exodus 20:18-21

Look at the words that we see here for a minute. God came in His glory and majesty and the people were afraid. We are praying constantly today, “God show me your glory” We have a great song by Third Day singing about this very thing. We see that the people moved further away and told Moses to speak to them instead of the Living God. They were making a very fatal error here! Moses told them that God had come to test them and show them how to fear his magnificence, in order to keep them from sinning.

Ah…….here we are beginning to see the significance of the action of the people. Now it is starting to make sense. We know that God did not come to scare them in order for Him to feel powerful! God does not need an ego boost. He is very confident in His magnificence and splendor. The people on the other hand had continually wandered off the track that God had set before them and returned to theirold ways. He was their King and yet they did not want to be in His presence and hear Him speaking to them personally. I believe it was because their filthiness and sinful hearts were exposed before His face and they could not handle it! I believe that they wanted tohold on to their sin, while enjoying His hand of protection against their enemies. They wanted the mixture in their lives!

Let’s get back to the kingship pattern that our churches are currently based on, shall we? Can we see that this system though it may not be as obvious as the kingship pattern of the people in biblical times, there is clearly a great similarity. Could it be that the people want and desire this system because they can live their lives without much accountability, because the pastor is only one man who cannot possibly have fellowship with every one of his people. The bigger the church; the less the accountability. When we turn this thing around for a minute and see when God is the only King, we know that He can see all things, knows all things, and nothing is hidden before His eyes. Somehow we have placed a mediator between us and God and I believe this is where the defect is uncovered. Somehow, the accountability is to man instead of God where it belongs. As long as man does not correct us in our sin, we feel somehow, that we are OK, even though God has been speaking to us about our disobedience!

It reminds me of the inmates in the jail where I work. In their eyes, they are only guilty of the crimes that they have been convicted of. They feel no accountability for the crimes that they “got away with”. When I talk to them about the reason they are in prison, it is amazing to hear them justify their lawlessness and rebellion against society. They take no responsibility for their actions! They only feel guilty when they are caught! How about us before the Lord? Do we live our lives as if Jesus is walking along with us every minute of every day, in every circumstance? If we did, would some of us continue to live as if He cannot see us and does not care what we do? Wake up! We have talked ourselves into being content with our one hour Sunday service obligation, which gives us the assurance that we have done our part and we are “Good to Go with God” This is a deception!

When we get back to the feedbag on the horse at the beginning of this article, I relate this not only to the desire for more freedom and fulfillment in our callings, but it also relates to the reason so many of stay in the current churchianity system instead of seeking the Lord for alternate forms. Just because something has been operating for so long and is familiar and established does not mean it is working effectively. So maybe we should be more diligent to improve on the way that we “Do Church”? We need another Reformation, like in the time of Martin Luther! There is a shift in the Winds of God upon our land and He is ferreting out the corruption in “His Church”. He is judging her and there is nowhere to hide from the consuming fire of His eyes. His gaze will burn up all that is not pleasing in His sight! If we give way to the judgment of God upon His house, we will repent and humble ourselves before a mighty God, but if we ignore these warnings from heaven, He will send a deluding influence upon us and allow us to continue in our deception because of the stubbornness of our hearts.

I am not suggesting that we all leave our churches this week and just float around without leadership and guidance! This would be a disaster! Even though I believe that the system is sick, God first needs to open up our eyes to the problem and then through transition, something new will be birthed that will better fulfill the mandate of Jesus , “In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. Yes, ask anything, using my name, and I will do it!” John 14:12. When we start walking in the power of God so that our mere shadow will heal people, we will know that God is in our midst in a BIG WAY!

Christian Entertainment

By | Easter 2015, Epistles for Warriors, Testimony, Uncategorized | No Comments

Ah…here is a touchy subject indeed! The ‘Christmas Entertainment Season’ is upon us:
Let’s look at the definition of the word entertainment: “a diversion or amusement, something affording diversion or amusement, esp. a performance.” The word entertain has interesting definitions also such as: “to admit into or hold in the mind; consider.” Another definition of entertain is: to give admittance or reception to; receive.”

I’m sure that you have all heard the phrase ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’, have you not? Well…if we expand upon that, how many words would be contained in a movie of say…one and half hours? Since I am not a mathematician, that calculation is way beyond me, but I think you can see my point. There is nothing wrong with words being held in the mind (definition of entertain) but what kind of words or ideas are being held in our minds? As Christians, Paul warns us, “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:5. I wonder how many times during an “entertainment performance” that we accomplish this goal, of taking every thought captive and examining it before the Word of God and Christ? I would say that we would be so busy doing this during any secular media event, that we would be unable to enjoy the performance, let alone even understand what the plot is or what is going on at all.

I have heard my brothers and sisters say that it is OK to go and watch a movie with cursing and scenes of sex in it because “they are redeemed by the blood of Jesus” and these kinds of things don’t bother them. What rubbish! I have seen pictures from Bible school dorm rooms where the students are holding up beer bottles toasting to who knows what. What is going on?

We are not talking about going around dressing in sackcloth and ashes and mourning all day long, no! We are merely asking why God is so boring that we need a diversion from Him? Has God lost His luster and become dated? I heard of one pastor who as a visiting speaker, was picked up at the airport by the hosting pastor and quickly whisked away to play golf, which is one of his enjoyments in life. I don’t believe that there is anything wrong with that, do you? While teeing off, the visiting speaker started to share what God had been doing in his life and the hosting pastor said, “Oh no brother, let’s not talk shop out here, we are here to get away from all that.” Now do we see the problem? It is like money, which is often misquoted in the Bible as being the “root of all evil” This is a misquote, as it is the “love of money” not the money that is the root here. Golf is fine, but not if it is to “Get away from God”.

What about television, movies, video games, secular entertainment, secular music and such? What can be wrong with all of that? Someone said that today’s mainstream TV is yesterday’s pornography. What would our grandma and grandpa’s say about today’s mainstream entertainment? They would be appauled! We have been slowly duped into accepting so much immorality and violence as OK. It’s like the story of the frog who is put on top of the stove in cold water and the temperature of the water is raised one degree per hour until suddenly the frog explodes. The frog was unsuspecting until ‘suddenly’ it was all over. We have been de-sensitized through years of accepting the ‘norm’ in our entertainment culture to the point we have reached today. The world has a phrase, “Garbage in—Garbage out” We Christians would do well to take heed to this very saying. Sometimes the world is wiser than we are in certain aspects. Of course many of us are concerned about what we eat and drink. We get up in arms over someone building a garbage dump too close to our house, but what about the media moguls who are getting rich on our inactivity? We are still too carnal! We can see the physical stuff but the spiritual stuff, we are often blind to.

I heard last week about a youth group that takes the young adults out to see a movie once a month or so just to give them a break. (A break from what?) He said that a couple of the movies that they are watching are: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Lord of the Rings. Let’s take a look at these seemingly harmless movies. I think that Turtles is self explanatory, but what about JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings? He was a Christian, right? So what? I read these books when I was in high school, as an unbeliever, and they are full of magic and sorcery and all manner of evil. Why is this OK? I said to the young man who was telling me this story, why don’t you just take them to see Harry Potter? I said, it’s not much different? Where is the discernment in “The Church”? We are being taken down the garden path to our destruction folks! Where does the “taking every thought captive to Christ” come in here? God instructed us to be in the world, not of it! I’m not saying that you’re going to hell over this, but what about your anointing, and your discernment? Do you sense that they are dulling within you compared to how it used to be? Smith Wigglesworth said, “If you are not closer to God today than you were yesterday, you are backsliding!” So…let’s admit to backsliding and repent and get right with God. He is faithful to forgive!

How hard is it to remove the images that are ‘given admittance’ into our minds through this polluted entertainment? It is almost impossible! Even things that you watched 10, 20, or 30 years ago are still running around in your mind, and become aroused by an association. Our imagination is like Grand Central Station with trains arriving every minute going to numerous destinations with multitudes of people clamouring for trains to too many places. So much activity, so much confusion, and so little peace. God promised to give us ‘peace, love and joy’ in the Holy Ghost. Why is this not enough to overcome our addiction to the next entertainment phenomenom? Our lust for this stuff needs to be stopped if we are to move ahead in the things of God. Try fasting TV for a week or a month? Try fasting secular music for the same period of time? See what happens? I challenge you to rid your house of entertainment media for a week. See if your mind (train station) does not come to rest. God speaks to us in these times so intimately. We can get quiet enough to hear ‘His still small voice’ and watch our lives start to ramp up for take-off. This is what you have been praying for and hoping for. We are to love the things that God loves and to hate the things that He hates. If our discernment is dulled, how will we know when He disapproves of something we are doing or watching? We need an evacuation of our spiritual ear canals, to re-sensitize our spiritual ears.

Satan has a grand plan to keep us distracted and pre-occupied with so much stuff that is useless for the kingdom of God’s purposes. Would you take Jesus with you to every entertainment activity? Do you every ask Him if these things offend Him? Do you ever consider the Holy Spirit who accompanies you in everything you do? How does He feel about all these things? I think it’s time to scrape off this slime from our lives brother and sisters of the Lord. We are walking into a ‘cleverly designed trap’ destined to take us out or our marriages, relationships, churches, and our intimacy with our “Healer, Deliverer, Redeemer, Comforter, Restorer, Adversary, Lifter of our Heads, Our Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ”

As we approach this Christmas Season with a super abundance of choices to entertain our weary bones, please make choices that take every thought captive to Christ and do not attend anything that will offend the Holy Spirit and take you out of fellowship for even a few hours. We need to meet our God and see that when our intimacy is in tact with Him, there is no lack and His contentment is GREAT! Hallelujah!

7,000 Who have Not Bowed Their Knees

By | Easter 2015, Epistles for Warriors, Testimony, Uncategorized | No Comments

7,000 who have not bowed their knee to Baal

In the time of Elijah, it seemed that everyone had turned away from the ways of God. “Yet I will leave 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.” 1 Kings 19:18. We are not talking about some wimpy prophet here who runs at every sign of danger. No…we are talking about the great prophet Elijah. He was running from Jezebel. He had done such mighty exploits of God for many years but this battle marked the end of his earthly ministry. The fierceness of the attack took Elijah out.

What I want to highlight this morning is not the attack of Jezebel, that is for another time. I would like to make note that Elijah, who continually moved in the ways of God thought that he was the only one left who had not given in to the religious and political climate of the day. He really believed that he was the only one left doing the work of God. He feared for his life and fled convinced that he was alone in the battle. Have you ever felt that way?
In these recent days we have seen the falling of some very large, powerful and rich ministries. There are now 6 major ministries in the US right now who are under investigation for their financial integrity. These are ministries who have major followings and are seen on TV every week. They are being held accountable for their handling of money. This last week, we heard about the heresy of John Hagee. Everyone in “The Church” has most likely heard of him. There is finally an uprising and speaking against these false teachers and false prophets. It is time to expose these deeds of darkness.

We have been so milked in the “Love Gospel” that we have become so soft and complacent. It reminds of the picture of Jesus with the little lamb on his lap and so kind and cuddly. Is this the picture of Jesus that you see? It is truly a valid picture of the Lord, but it is only a glimpse into the many facet of His character. He is also the “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” This is not the picture of a soft, anything goes type of person. A lion roars and has huge, sharp teeth, and claws that can tear whatever it wants apart in seconds. This symbol of a lion represents the “King of the Jungle”. Our Jesus is the “King of Kings” We need to update our desktop wallpaper and start to see the many other facets of Jesus.

Those who adhere to the “Don’t Mention Any Names” syndrome, and just “Love Everybody No Matter What” camp are asleep and need to “Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, and declare to My people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.” Isaiah 58:1. It is time to stop putting bandaids on this apostasy in “Our Church”. We need to take ownership for the shipwreck that is taking place before our eyes. The train derailment needs some help to clean up the mess and get the track repaired so other “righteous trains” can make their way along the track. Do you see this happening today? How many ministries need to fall before we pull the plug on our support and repent of our blindness? What is it going to take to open our blind complacent eyes to the corruption in the church? I’d like to know, wouldn’t you? All of these ministries that are under senate committee investigation preach forms of the “prosperity gospel” Mmmm….

Have you bowed your knee and kissed Baal or will God include you in the camp who have not indulged in these adulterous relationships with Mammon and the god of prosperity and material security? If so, repent before the Lord for following a false doctrine. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9. This is a pretty wonderful promise of restoration, don’t you think?

”The Canaanite god most often referred to is Baal, which means “lord” or “master.” The word could be used as a title for any person who owned something, or any god considered to be a lord or master. But the word Baal soon became identified with various regional gods that were thought to provide fertility for crops and livestock. As a god who symbolized the productive forces of nature, Baal was worshiped with much sensuality” Nelson’s New Illustrated Bible Dictionary

God is our supplier! He is our everything! When we succumb to “fear of lack” and look for other forms of security, it shows our lack of trust in His provision. It is leaning towards trusting in something other than Jehovah Jireh. The prosperity gospel grabs a hold of us because there are roots in us that want to depend on other things besides our God. Just as the Israelites lived in Egypt for 430 years and learned the ways of Egypt, and then they adopted many of those old ways and indulged in worship of the Egyptian gods, we are similar. How are we similar? We have also lived in the world with it’s convincing sales pitches and brainwashing techniques to adopt the security of it’s systems, in place of the truths of the Bible. James says, “You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” James 4:4 It doesn’t get much clearer than this!

In this season of extreme materialism in the shopping malls, please remember that you are a child of God and check your heart to see where your friendship lies, as you walk amongst the frenzied panic of those who urgently need to buy the next gift, before they are all gone. God is the God of peace, love and joy in the Holy Ghost. Be one of the 7,000 who refuses to bow your knee and kiss Baal.

Love and Merry Christmas…Rob and Jody

“A Sense Of Security”

By | Easter 2015, Epistles for Warriors, Testimony, Uncategorized | No Comments

Most people today are searching for some kind of sense of security. Some buy GIC’s, some invest in the stock market, some buy savings bonds and some add extra funds to their retirement fund. Some people work extra hours to get some money socked away for that rainy day. Where do we get our sense of security from? I suppose there would be many different answers to that question. Have you ever asked yourself that question?

Let’s look at some definitions of these words:
Secure: “free from or not exposed to danger, safe” “dependable; firm; not liable to fail, yield, or become displaced”
Security: “freedom from care, apprehension, or doubt.”
Security blanket: “a blanket, pillow, or the like clung to by a baby for reassurance and comfort. Something that gives one a sense of protection”
Sense: “any of the faculties, as sight, hearing, smell, taste, or touch, by which man and animals perceive stimuli originating from outside or inside the body.” “A more or less vague perception or impression,a sense of security”.

I was just thinking about it one day when I felt that the Lord was opening up my heart to the idea of a ‘sense’ of security. If you live in the city, many people have alarm systems in their homes to give them a sense that their homes are safe from invasion. This gives them a ‘sense of security’. There are people who believe that you have to belong to a certain church in order to be sure that you are enrolled in the Book of Life. Many people buy 4 wheel drive cars and SUV’s in order to have a ‘sense of security’ while driving, coupled with an alarm system to protect the car, while parked. How many people consider the security of Life After Death? How much time is spent considering what will happen when our time is up on the earth? This must be considered the most important sense of security there is! Especially considering that no one knows if their next breath will be their last one.

It’s amazing the answers that you will get when you ask people who profess to be Christians what it takes to get into heaven. Some people will tell you that you need to be a good person, who helps people to get into heaven. Some will say that you need to not drink, or smoke, or be mean to your family’ to get into heaven. Others are sure that God loves all of us, so we will all go to heaven. It seems that shows like “Touched by an Angel” have left us with a false sense of security. There are many people who die during these shows and the angel of death, Andrew, leads them off into the light to live happily-ever-after with God. It would be so great if this was true! It is not! So, our loved ones throughout the world watch entertainment such as this, and receive a false hope that is not based in the truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” John 14:6. Are there more than one truths? One dictionary that I have at home described truth with many definitions, but the one that I particularly liked was this one, “agreement with a standard or original” This seems to describe it best for me! Who can be more original than God? What other standard can compare to God? What could be more trustworthy than God’s Word? This is a question that we need to seek our hearts for our personal answers.

The enemy of our souls primary purpose is to lead us off of the narrow path! He is not going to do it so obviously that we will see his hand moving. No one except a disciple of satan would allow him to lead him or her in this way! Satan is a master of subtlety! He has a trick that makes us think that we are in control of our lives and we are ‘not deceived’. How can we be so sure? The Bible tells us, “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9. Furthermore we read in Matthew, “For then there will be a ‘great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall. And unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short.” Matt. 24:21-22. Does this sound like a pleasant time. It says that it will be the worst the world has ever seen! It will be worse than the world wars and all of the other disasters that we have seen, or read about. This is mega-disaster, folks!

If we think that we cannot be deceived, we are already on the way to deception. If we live a life of ease that says we are Ok, then we are living under a false sense of security! We have become prime targets for the enemy’s deceptive plans. We need to follow Peter’s advise, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world”. 1 Peter 5:8. Just before this Scripture which is very well known we read, in verse 6 and 7, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” These two verses hold powerful keys on how to avoid deception. We need to be humble before God and be vigilant, and steadfast in the faith. No one wants to be deceived! And…no one knows when they are deceived, or they would not be deceived!

We need to invest in a real sense of security in these days as we are being bombarded constantly by a barrage of deceptive tools designed brilliantly to nudge us off the narrow path. Notice the word “nudge” here. It is often a slow process, so that we will become acclimatized and unaware of any real change in our course. Be aware! Your enemy is hunting for you as a lion, roaring all day long looking for prey! You have been his target and you will continue to be his target! He is betting that you will fall prey to his schemes as so many have before! He has studied and knows mankind, our weaknesses, our target areas, our vulnerabilities, our prideful points, our weakened confidence, and how to bring each one of us down, by an independent approach. His success rate is devastating! Just look at the ministers and ministries that are falling like dominoes in these present days all around us! These people started out with the very best motives, I’m sure! We could be next victims! What do you base your sense of security on in these last days? It’s a new year and we need to re-calibrate our sensors, be vigilant, stay humble before God and man, and always stay hot for Him!

Happy New Year and may God bless you with revelation and fresh manna all this year! I pray that you will grow more and more hot for His glory, and that His passion will enflame your heart, so that you will be able to see all the circumstances in your life as little tiny stones before a ‘great big God’, “…who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.” Eph. 3:20.

Be blessed as you fight the good fight and are victorious for Him in every aspect of your lives!
